The Struggle when Enemies Surround you

Verses: Psalms 140: 1 - 13

Song inspired by the chapter:  Song has been uploaded from YouTube.com and is not my original.

My thoughts about the verses:

We all have those moments in our life when we feel that we are being surrounded on all sides.  You are in a situation that seems impossible to get out of.  You feel as if you are surrounded on all sides by different issues that have no way to overcome.  You actually feel as if the world is draining the very life out of you.

Isn’t it shocking in those moments that you are so worried about the enemies around you that you forget those that are there to help you.  We forget our friends and family.  We forget most importantly that God is there on our side.  We forget that all we need is right there around us.

We think that the end is coming and all of a sudden we find the hope we need.  We discover that we have the peace we need to survive.  We remember that we are not alone.  We find the strength and comfort that we need to get through all the situations that are affecting us.

We learn that our strength comes from a much higher power than our inner selves.  We discover that when we most need God we find our strength.  We discover that God has always been there.  We realize that our enemies are weak.  We come to the point of understanding that nothing is impossible without God.

Every time we feel alone and lost we only need to call on God.  We see that for every door that is closed there is another opportunity.  We come to see that our God gives us peace and strength.  We do not have to face the world without Jesus.  We may seem like we are in a deep dark tunnel but we all of a sudden see the light at the end of our journey.

It is in those moments that we come to realize that we need to praise our God.  We need to offer up praises to the one that has always been there.  The one that provides our strength and comfort needs to be worshiped.  It is during this praise that our enemies lose their grip and we become the conquerors that God wants us to be.

Prayer:

We praise you God for always being there for us.  We thank you for your strength and wisdom.  We worship you for opening the windows that we need.  Help us always feel your strength.  Help us to remember that you are there with us in our times of need.  In the name of Our Source of Strength we pray.  Amen

Questions:

Have you asked God for help in your times of need?  Have you been surrounded by the impossible but found the light at the end of the tunnel?  Is today the day that you truly turn your whole life over to God?  Is today the day that you praise God for all the help you have received in your life?

God Knows Everything about Us

Verses: Psalms 139: 1 - 24

Song inspired by the chapter:  Song has been uploaded from YouTube.com and is not my original.

My thoughts about the verses:

God knows everything about us.  God knows what we are going to do before we even do it.  God knows what all we will do.  God is all knowing and powerful.

We need to understand that God is omnipotent.  God is the one who has created us.  God is the strength that keeps us strong.  We are led by the Most High.

We need to thank God for all that we are given.  We need to praise God for the comfort and strength that we have in life.  God is the one that provides our comfort.

We have to come to understand that God is the all-knowing creator that is there for us all the time.  We should always remember that the creator knows us more than anyone else.  God provides the knowledge that we need to survive.  God gives us the strength that we need to make it through day to day.

The next time in your life when you feel alone think about the one that never leaves you.  God does not abandon us.  The one that created us will be there no matter the struggle that we are in.  God is there when we wake up in the morning God is there when we lay down each night.  We need to understand that our life is blessed with the very love of God.
We need to accept that God created us to be just who we are.  God loves us and will be there whenever we call on the name of our Creator.  We need to realize that when we need to accept that God will never leave us alone.  God will be there and will never abandon us.  We need to accept the love of God.  We need to realize that the strength that we feel every day comes from the one that created us.

God loves us more than anyone on Earth can ever do.  God sent the son so that we may have everlasting life.  Jesus death provides us everlasting life.  The gift that God gives us is the proof that God loves us.  Yet, it is up to us to accept the gift and understand and accept God’s love for us.

Prayer:

We praise you God for your everlasting love for us.  We thank you for being with us throughout our life.  We thank you for caring for us when we are weak.  We thank you for creating us and accepting us for who we are.  Help us share your love with others.  Help us accept your gift of love.  Help us remember your sacrifice.  In the name of the Omnipotent God we pray.  Amen

Questions:

Do you accept God as your salvation?  Do you understand that God created you to be who you are?  Do you accept that God is there with you no matter what?  Do you accept that God will love you and never abandon you?  Do you accept that when you are at your lowest God is your comfort?  Do you accept when you need help God s your strength?

Thank you for answering us when we Pray

Verses: Psalms 138: 1 - 8

Song inspired by the chapter:  Song has been uploaded from YouTube.com and is not my original.

My thoughts about the verses:

God will answer your prayers if you ask God for help.  We often fear that our requests are so small that God will not hear our prayers.  We fear that God will think our prayers are selfish.  We even fear that God will help others that will hurt us even though we are true followers of the Living God.

The question has always been why do we fear that God will ignore our request?  Simple we have had times in our life that we feel our prayers are not answered when we want them.  We also have times that we do not get the answer that we want.  There is even times that it feels that those that are against us win.

Let us look at each situation individually.  Why does it that so much time for our prayers to be answered?  We have this thought that when we pray it should be immediate.  We should not have to continue with our problem. We think that if we have to wait we are not heard.  If we are not heard then we need to solve the problem ourselves.  When we try to fix it ourselves we often complicate the issue that we first had.
Think on it like this.  How many times in the Bible did people pray yet had to wait for the answer.  The prayer eventually was fulfilled yet there was a lesson that the person had to learn.  Think about the struggles David went through.  He had a heart of prayer yet there were times that he had to go in hiding because his prayer was not answered immediately.  He had a lesson to learn.  So we have to remember that God’s time might be different than our time.  Yet, God will listen and will help you in God’s time.

So we accept that our prayer will come in God’s time.  Yet why do we not get what we ask for every time?   Isn’t that the way we feel.  We waited for you answer but we didn’t get what we expected.  We often times get frustrated with God because we think that we are doing what we are supposed to do yet, God doesn’t give us what we think we need.

Yet, think back to the song “Unanswered Prayers.”  Think on those prayers that were not answered the way you wanted.  Isn’t it true that we get what we really need?  God answered our prayer by not giving us what we wanted.   We thought we needed one thing but in actually we discover that God know well.

Lastly, if God is listening to us why does it feel like others are able to rise up against us.  We feel as if God is letting our enemies win battles against us.  We sometimes even feel defeated because we think that we have done something that is keeping God from hearing our prayers.

We need to remember that God does not abandon us.  God stays by our side.  Our enemy may when small battles but they will not defeat us.  They will be never being able to defeat us.  We have God on our side and God will get us through.  Even though it might feel like we have been abandoned God is there.  We are not to fear.

Think about the moment that Jesus died on the cross.  Do you not think that all of the disciples felt defeated?  Yet, three days later Jesus arose out of the grave.  Imagine the rejoicing that happened as they learned that Jesus was alive.  Keep that in mind the next time you think that your enemy is going to destroy.

Prayer:

Dear God we thank you for all that you do.  We thank you for unanswered prayers.  We thank you for answering our prayers in your time.  Thank you for standing with us all the way to the end of our battle.  Help us to not lose our faith.  Help us to remember that you are there with us all the time.  Help us to continue to reach out to you in our times of need.  In your Holy Name we pray.  Amen

Questions:

Do you doubt that God is listening to your prayers?  Have you accepted that unanswered prayers may be exactly what we need in our life?  Are you willing to give your life over to God knowing that God will always be there for you?
