| The Word will Bring Light into the Darkness |
My
thoughts about the verses:
This is my first post. I decided to start with one of my favorite books in the Bible. Every time you read the Bible God can give you something new to think about. The thoughts of this blog are guided by God yet are from my own perspective. What is amazing about studying the Bible is that the more you study the more enlightened you become. You should never assume that what one person interprets from a Bible passage is the only interpretation.
I have read these verses over and over again. I can almost see God sitting with Jesus and the Holy Spirit discussing what would soon be coming. God the parent did not want to be separated from humankind. Yet, God knew that there would be a separation and that something would have to occur to lead humankind back to God.
You can see Jesus standing on the right hand of the Parent. You can hear the conversation "I have been here before the world existed and I am willing to go there and bring them home." The parent looking at the son saying "that would work but the Holy Spirit will also have to be involved." So looking to the Holy Spirit, God says "after they accept what Jesus do I will need you to live within their hearts." The Holy Spirit at those moments says "that will bring the world a new light but let's do something to let them know what will soon happen."
So John the Baptist was born. His One goal in life was to tell people to prepare room in their hearts because Jesus was coming. John went teaching that the light was coming. John taught that he was not the one who is coming to save but the one who will prepare the way. When the light reaches the world you must accept it into your heart. Then by living with the light in your heart you will be better than you ever were. You will join God in Heaven and nothing will separate you.
Jesus did come to the Earth and step down to our level so that we would fully understand the connection between us and God. That the heart of humankind can change once it accepts Christ. The Holy Spirit now fills us so that anything that was blocking us from the light of God is removed. We are now part of God's family that we are marked with light. Once the light feels your body and soul all you desire is to serve.
So the very presence of God in your life is to motivate you to live in a different way. Accepting that Christ is present and that you can project the light outward leads others to accept Christ. The best part is that the Holy Spirit will keep you in the arms of grace and you will find peace. Living with the Holy Spirit in your life is the closest that you will get here on Earth to living with God in Heaven.
Prayer:
Dear God we thank you for loving us. We thank you for sending Jesus to the earth to die so that we may have a way to join you in Heaven. We thank you for the Holy Spirit who fills our hearts and directs our spirit and mind. We give you all the praise and glory. God we now ask that you come into our midst so that we may never stray. In your holy name we pray. Amen

If you haven't accepted the light of God in your heart is today the day? Think about the things that happening around you and ask is there something that I need to do to change what is happening? Is there something that God desires in my life that I have put on the back burner? What can I do to accept the light?
For those that have accepted the light look into your heart and ask is there anything that I have put before the work God has asked me to do? What has God done for you this day to let you feel the light that is living within you? What can you do to help others find their way to God?
